HOPE HUNT AND THE ASCENSION INTO LAZARUS

Hope Hunt and the Ascension into Lazarus is a dance performance that dismantles stereotypes and finds beauty in the periphery. Like a Ken Loach documentary dance, Oona Doherty lets in the souls we rarely see on the dance stage. The young men of Belfast, their violence, their vulnerability, their outbursts of anger and their sense of boredom.
Dancer Mufasa-Sandrine Lescourant channels aggression, humor, joy and despair in rapid sequences. Gestures, sounds and words combine in a distinctive body language, distorting ideas of masculinity and morality.
