She has toured with ABBA and has extensive experience from the Swedish music industry, but has also worked with film, television and theater. She is currently creative producer/curator for Avicii Experience. Meet Ingmarie Halling who, with her own story as a frame example, will talk to Per Strömbro about believing in your idea and not giving up, about project management, creativity, the chicken and the egg and that life is short - have fun!
Ingmarie Halling was born in Luleå in 1953 and grew up in Umeå. She has three grown-up children and lives in an old mission house in Småland, just south of Västervik. Ingmarie herself says about her professional life:
"I fell in love with a guitarist from Örebro in 1970, we moved to Stockholm and were a couple for 10 years. He played with Ulf Lundell, ABBA, Ted Gärdestad, Pugh Rogefelt, Skifs and many more. A lot of music at home and many musicians in the circle of friends. Many became my friends and still are.
In the 1970s I trained as a swimming teacher and later became a student at Riksteaterns Perukmakeriet, worked with theater, ballet, musicals. 1977 I was asked to go with ABBA to Australia on tour, further to Europe, USA, Canada and Japan.
Also studied Swedish at SU, took a course at the Film Institute "Producing for film and theater", has worked with film, TV, theater and musicals until 2008 when I got a job as a producer for ABBA The Museum.
At the time of writing, I'm working as a creative producer/curator for the Avicii Experience. There will be a new exhibition at Sergels Torg in Stockholm and three new exhibitions after that."
