Come and learn about the ideas behind a unique project that the artists behind it describe as "a cultural center on wheels." Tove Berglund and Ludvig Daae are creating an encounter between motor culture and performing arts—an event that is neither a motor show nor a theater performance, but something in between. In collaboration with local motor enthusiasts in Västerbotten, they are organizing gatherings where the audience can experience car shows, conversations, and hot dog barbecues. They are also taken on car trips where they are treated to theatrical performances, dance, and music. In the conversation, we hear Tove and Ludvig talk about the ideas behind the work. How did they come up with the idea of bringing motor and performing arts culture together? And what discoveries and challenges have they encountered along the way?
Tove Berglund is a director, set designer, costume designer, and artistic director for Oscen in Jämtland. Tove graduated from Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts with a degree in stage design in 2013 and has worked in Sweden and Norway with performances at institutions and in the independent field, including Den Norske Teatret, Norrdans, and Norrlandsoperan. Tove's interactive works have been a hit with participants and critics alike. Ludvig has been a recurring collaborator, and in 2023 they created Meningen med livet (The Meaning of Life), an interactive caravan park that explores the meaning of life, which toured in the spring of 2024 with Dansnät Sverige.
