In the village of Gubbträsk, 25 kilometers east of Storuman, the evil Gubbträskgetarn is said to have lived in the 1800s. According to legend, Gubbträskgetarn had many lives on his conscience and even employed the devil himself as a farmhand. Since then, stories have been told of unpleasant experiences in the area. Even today, it is said that you should avoid picking up hitchhikers along the Gubbträsk road as it may be the nasty Gubbträskgetarn.
