Storytelling workshop for teachers
Here we can customize a workshop that suits the school / work team. An opportunity for teachers to get more tools in how to work with oral storytelling with students, in a way that strengthens the group, imagination, language development, writing development, etc. It also inspires active listening, increased imagination and imagination, evokes emotions and commitment.

As a teacher/educator, you may want to develop your own ability to teach through oral storytelling. We will go through what the building blocks of an interesting story should be, different techniques for how a story can be told, try out different types of stories, etc.

The school curriculum emphasizes the importance of oral storytelling and we can work on a workshop suitable for all educators, regardless of subject.

Storytelling raid
A total surprise for pupils at your school. The door to the classrooms is thrown open during a normal lesson and a storyteller enters, tells a short story of about 10 minutes and then leaves again.
Suddenly, the next storyteller appears, and then another... This happens in several classrooms at once.

In one day, pupils can experience many different stories. This can be used as a starter for a storytelling project or a theme week. The most important thing is that it is a wonderful experience that inspires and moves. We are happy to offer storytelling workshops in connection with the visit to the school.

Oral storytelling in multilingual classrooms

In today's classrooms, many different languages are spoken. Oral storytelling in several languages stimulates language development for pupils. It arouses curiosity and interest, promoting both group and individual development. We work with methods where the pupils, through practical exercises, tell stories together, each in their mother tongue. We teach the basics of story structure, test the role of the body and voice in storytelling and explore different forms of storytelling.

Storytelling tent

Once upon a time... Step into the golden yellow fairytale tent and let the stories take you into the fairytale world that takes you to other times and other rooms. Anything can happen there.

In the 1990s, a fairy-tale tent was created and toured by the Blue Horse Children's Cultural Center. An incredible number of children have listened to fairy tales of all kinds, played and sung songs in this tent! We are so happy that the tent is now with us at the Nordic Storytelling Center and we will do our best to manage the storytelling heritage that this imaginative dwelling carries with it.

We come out with a portable fairy tale tent that can accommodate about 20 children, where we tell fairy tales for children from 3 years and up. There is also the opportunity to work with fairy tale play afterwards, a kind of playful theater form where children and adults become all the characters of the fairy tale, we build up the fairy tale environments with what we have around us and then we play the fairy tale together from start to finish.

Story time

We invite you to a story time! Do you want to come and visit us at Sara Kulturhus, or should we visit you? It's up to you! We create a cozy environment where it is comfortable to sit down for a while and take part in the imaginative world of fairy tales. We are happy to adapt if you want fairy tales on specific themes. From 3 years and up.

Experience the story with all your senses! A playful moment where the children first listen to a fairy tale. Then we build up the fairy tale environment in the room with simple means and everyone can choose to be the character they want. Then we play the story together, from beginning to end.
