The Circus Director's Daughter

The Circus Director's Daughter is a moving story about a father who had to give up his child—but now regrets it.

Here in the countryside, in the remains of his circus "Tsirk Mechka," we meet him, Sali. The director who has decided that this will be the last performance...
This time, it's not just about circus acts and magic; something more important is at stake—his dignity.
Sali searches his soul and invites us into a world of memories—he is a dreamer, he is a survivor. Judge him if you can – what would you have done yourself?
The play alternates circus acts with song – a story that touches deeply on the human condition. It explores thoughts about guilt, love, loss and, not least, the hope of reconciliation.

The performance was written and created by Steph Molin, who was himself adopted from Bulgaria. During a guest appearance at a Roma festival in Bucharest, questions and memories were raised that ultimately needed to be expressed – a child's imagination about his Roma father. A musical story with a glimmer of hope.
