One of Finland's most internationally renowned authors, Monika Fagerholm's novel Diiva (1998) is a coming-of-age story about a girl who enters adulthood with an appetite for life. It is not just a story of adolescence in a suburb, but also a picture of growing up, painful transitions and transformations, first love and great sorrows.
Of course we all remember it. The time when every day was a little party and a little death. That roaring period of time.

Diiva, adapted and directed by Laura Mattila, is a shocking and joyful performance in its unreasonableness, with dreams of teenagers who can do anything and celebrate all kinds of girls.

The performance is in Finnish, but subtitled in Swedish.

One of Finland's internationally best-known authors, Monika Fagerholm's novel Diva (1998) is a coming-of-age account of a girl who approaches adulthood with a great relish for life. It is not only a depiction of adolescence in suburbia, but also a portrait of growing up, the painful transitions and transformation, first love and great sorrows.

The language of the performance is Finnish and the performance is subtitled in Swedish.
