Feelgood performance with the prophet of the free body
Silvia Gribaudi has made a name for herself as the prophet of the free body. By questioning gender stereotypes, body ideals and the concept of virtuosity, she manages to both entertain and make her audience think. She is now touring Dansnät Sweden with the ultimate feelgood performance - Graces.
Silvia Gribaudi is one of those rare artists who dares to be funny, irrelevant and empathetic at the same time. She always remains seamlessly fluid between dance, theater and performance. With her self-effacing and queer approach, she offers her audience entertainment and joy. Indomitable and straightforward, her work has the ability to create reflection through both the unconventional and the unexpected. In the spring of 2019, Silvia Gribaudi's performance R.osa toured with Dansnät Sweden, and now she is back with her new work Graces.
Graces is a tribute to the strength of human imperfection, a reminder that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", but above all a heartfelt performance that invites a lot of laughter.
ENG: A heartfelt and entertaining performance that questions gender stereotypes and body ideals.
Press release:
"Silvia Gribaudi's GRACES [...] is an homage to the poetic powers of imperfection [...] Within the framework of theatrical convention, Gribaudi attempts to trigger a change in our perspective through a down-to-earth attitude, by offering entertainment and inviting us to have fun"
Jordi Ribot Thunnissen in Movement exposed
In a relentless succession of dances, tableaux vivants and comic scenes, the quartet seeks (and obtains) at all times the complicity of the spectator, involving him in a eulogy of imperfection and individuality [...] Among intended afterthought, self-mocking celebrations, lyrical interludes and unsettling suspensions, the clear awareness that "beautiful is the place where the gaze rests" rises.
