Ruth was the mayoress of the small town of Mjölby. She was extremely interested in fashion, had her clothes made by seamstresses and
sewed herself, and she saved everything. Now her daughter Ingela Bendt has written the book "Ruths garderob - en modehistoria".
We follow Ruth through six decades, 1930-1970 and how she ages with her wardrobe. Ingela visits us and tells Ruth's story through films from catwalks where the clothes are shown, pictures and clothing slips from each decade. As well as fashion history, it's also a piece of women's history - about the housewife, the country housewife, the female
facade, the mother-daughter relationship, and the female body.
