At the Ark at 8 am

Three penguins and a boat to watch. A humorous, musical and philosophical family show, from 6 years.

The three penguins are always together. They play with each other and they fight a bit, like penguins do when nothing else happens. One of them gets angry and walks away for a while. On normal days, that's all that happens. But today a pigeon comes flying with a message.
The deluge is coming - in fact, it has already started raining. Two animals of each kind have tickets to Noah's Ark. What will the penguins do then? There are three of them and no one wants to leave a friend behind. Can they all get on board without anyone noticing? And if so, how do you keep a whole penguin secret on board a boat?

VID ARKEN KL 8 is a humorous, musical and philosophical play based on the classic story of Noah's Ark. It celebrates imagination and play, and is about friendship in a situation where the seas are rising and threaten to wipe out everything and everyone. The story does not solve the climate crisis, but it reminds us that we need each other and that we should take care of each other.

Dear audience,

A warm welcome to our production of At the Ark at eight o'clock!

It was written by Ulrich Hub and inspired by one of the world's oldest stories - the story of Noah's Ark. A story that is found in so many oral and written traditions across the world. It is a play about a changing world, but also about hope, friendship and survival.

In the show, we follow three penguins and a pigeon on their journey through the rain and into the unknown. They play, argue, support each other and ask big questions, just like us humans. What does it mean to be a friend? How do you stay together when the waters rise and the world rocks? And how do we
do we make sure no one is left behind?

Ulla Karlsson's magical set and costume design, Anso Lundin's wonderful music, Helena Andersson's sweet mask and Jonas Olsson's delicate lighting bring our story to life. We have had an incredible rehearsal period, and the actors' diligence, skill and unbridled humor are ready to shine for you.

I hope this performance will provoke laughter, reflection and perhaps a little reminder of how important we are to each other.

Thank you for being here and sharing this moment with us!
