WHO ARE YOU? - A unique art and theater experience for young and old.
Västerbottensteatern and Skellefteå Konsthall invite you to Ögonblicksteatern's performance Who are you? which is a surrealist play in the borderland between art and theater. The performance is made for everyone from about 9 years old and invites you to a unique world with characters from Västerbotten's animal and plant kingdom.
In the performance, we get to humorously and seriously study up close various characters such as the Cone, the Fly, the Pike and the Mouse who, while waiting for something to happen, are drawn into small everyday dramas with each other. After a while, the eyes and interest turn to the audience and the question is asked - Who are you?
In this unique collaboration, artist Ingela Ihrman, composer Anna Haglund and director Maja Salomonsson look to nature to understand what it really means to be human.
- The animals and plants try to answer questions like: Do you give birth to live young? Can you fly? How do you keep warm when you are cold? Do you have a tail? Are you dangerous to each other? figure out what kind of people are watching them. It is an incredibly unique experience to meet our plants and animals in this way. Playful, quirky and touching. Just to experience a beaked mouse birth, you don't want to miss it," says Johanna Salander, artistic director at Västerbottensteatern, who herself plays a blade of grass in the performance.
The show was originally staged in Umeå at Ögonblicksteatern in 2018 and played for a short period. Now the audience gets a new chance as the show goes on a mini tour north.
The characters' costumes have been made by the artist Ingela Ihrman, who is active in Sweden and internationally with exhibitions, commissions and self-initiated projects in and outside art spaces. Her practice includes performance, sculpture, video and text, often in collaboration with others. In her works, she questions how we systematically categorize and exploit nature - of which we ourselves are a part - while at the same time longingly highlighting it as something untouched and original.

- We are happy to announce that the artist Ingela Ihrman will be in Skellefteå on April 15 and participate in an artist talk that will be led by the performing artist Lisen Rosell.
