Ville, Valle, and Viktor

Welcome to the 2026 summer theater, where the whole family is invited to enjoy laughter, entertainment, and a good dose of seriousness when Ville, Valle, and Viktor return in new costumes. A charming combat performance with spirited characters, crazy antics, and rousing music in a beautiful summer setting.

Why do people listen to you more when you’re lying? How can it be cheaper to litter and destroy than to take care of things? From a different political era, Ville, Valle, and Viktor are dropping by Medelfors Park this summer. With slapstick, singing, and antics, they take a humorous look at our present day. Is this really how things are supposed to work?

Ville, Valle, and Viktor are a unique family who work in the cultural sector and live outside societal norms. They play their way through life while tackling difficult challenges. Based on a radio program from the 1970s, the show tells the story of three variety performers (one of whom is a puppet) trying to get by in the world. They have no money, but all the more imagination and ingenuity. Everything can become a game of roles and situations.

When the landlord threatens to evict them if they don’t pay the rent and insists that they act more like a “real” family—a nuclear family—they take this very seriously and try to fit in. They try to scrape together money by selling old clothes and by “getting good grades” that will help them find jobs. When that doesn’t work, they imagine rich old aunts whom they hope will be able to give them money.

On stage, we see four actors who also play musical instruments in this nostalgic journey for multiple generations—and a joyful discovery for new ones.

The characters of Ville Valle and Viktor stem from a long theatrical tradition of exposing authority and power through humor. By adopting the outsider’s perspective of a child, a clown, or a vagabond, they point out the emperor’s new clothes and strip away the order we take for granted with the naive question, “Why is that?”  Political questioning can be portrayed in many layers and with varying degrees of complexity, often with the child’s and adult’s perspectives running side by side. Humor is the best technique for this purpose. Humor creates a moment of shared interpretation, and laughter becomes proof that we see the same thing. Humor builds a sense of “we.” Dusting off and letting the slightly naive poster theater of the ’70s settle into our wounded present feels so right. What we really need today is the belief that it is actually we, together, who decide what kind of world we will have.

Press quote from VK:
📰“70s prog rock turns into a high-energy, door-slamming farce”
📰“The themes explored in the story of the three traveling performers—big business, real estate speculation, environmental degradation, and the message of solidarity—are, of course, highly topical, and Västerbottensteatern preserves much of the ‘progg’ spirit in its adaptation of the script… but also anchors the whole thing in well-chosen contemporary references.”
📰“A modern-day despot is also evident in Viktor’s prank on the others, when he dresses up as a boastful von Sprätt and runs amok, threatening to buy Greenland… This is just one in a string of brilliant comic moments that Niklas Larsson Lirell delivers in this mimetic and expressive star role.”
📰“…not to mention the slapstick that forms the backbone of the acting, with Jason Nemor Harden as Valle delivering a series of unforgettable performances.”
📰“Ellenor Lindgren delivers a pitch-perfect and confident performance as Ville (the vocals are solid across the board, by the way)”
📰“Mattias Kågström is responsible for the music, arrangements, and on-stage performance. He also plays a slick and greedy landlord in a bright yellow suit…”
