LINK 2026
You can now register for Link 2026
Are you young, interested in theater or are you perhaps the leader of a group of young theater enthusiasts between 15-20 years active in Västerbotten or Norrbotten? Then you can become one of our Link ensembles that gather every two years to participate in the amateur theater festival Link in Norrbotten and Västerbotten!
In the spring of 2025, we are recruiting young ensembles who, together with the leader / director, want to try their wings by participating in a national theater project until the spring of 2026 together with other young ensembles from all over the country.
An amateur theater festival for young people with exciting scripts, meetings with other ensembles in the region and an opportunity to play their performance at a major regional festival. If this sounds interesting, you can read more about the Link Project here.
Find out more about plays and registration information on the National Theatre's website.

What is Link?
LÄNK is a national amateur theater initiative for young ensembles and new drama initiated by Riksteatern.
LINK is suitable for schools, cultural schools, amateur theater groups or ensembles that are started solely to implement this project.
How does it work?
A group of young people aged 15-20 can apply to take part and will have the opportunity to perform at a regional amateur theater festival in spring 2026 together with other young ensembles from the region.
During the first year of the project, a number of newly written play scripts are developed, all designed to be performed by a young ensemble.
During the second year of the project, scripts are selected and then rehearsal work begins for all ensembles across the country. All participating ensembles are given the opportunity for further training and theater deepening, in the form of workshops and director training, with professional theater actors from county theater in collaboration with regional performing arts consultant. Riksteatern also offers practical and artistic support throughout the project year with director weekends, director meetings, etc.
Does it cost anything?
Participation in LINK is free of charge, but theater leaders and rehearsal space are required. Participants' travel, food and accommodation are paid for as far as possible through regional project funding.
Organization of the project
Riksteatern Västerbotten, Riksteatern Norrbotten, Västerbottensteatern and Norrbottensteatern collaborate in the project and have a joint working group every year for planning recruitment, ensemble support and festival.
The project has been running in Sweden since 2012 with Riksteatern as national lead partner. Initially, the project started in England at The National Theatre, but has spread to Sweden, Norway, Finland, Italy, Portugal and Brazil.
