Norran wants to meet readers during the Storytelling Festival
"The free word - What is journalism?" is the title when Norran's employees take the stage to answer readers' questions and talk about their everyday life as journalists in a newspaper editorial office.
For more than 100 years, Norran has covered the local communities of Skellefteå, Malå, Norsjö, Arvidsjaur and Arjeplog. The conditions of journalism have changed during this period, but our mission remains the same - to cover the local community.
During the Storytelling Festival, readers will have the opportunity to ask questions to some of the magazine's journalists and editors.
- What is local news?
- How does a newspaper editorial team prioritize among all the action?
- When is Norran on site?
Norran's coverage includes everything from reporting major news events to digging into the background of political decisions, depicting life stories, covering sports and cultural events and promoting social debate. Since February 2023, Norran also has news in English to contribute to integration in a growing Skellefteå.
On Wednesday, October 18, journalists from Norran will talk about the trade-offs and publishing decisions and answer questions about their assignment.
In place are:
- Ulrika Nohlgren, reporter with a focus on investigation and in-depth reporting
- Wilhelm Sandelin Anton, reporter focusing on schools and education
- Melker Westerberg, web editor and reporter
- Ingela Lekfalk, Culture and Entertainment Editor
