Elisabeth Lindmark talks about her book on Dr. Sigrid Nygren’s unique life’s work.
Sigrid Nygren went on to become a well-known figure in Skellefteå. She became the first doctor in private practice in all of Norrland. She served on both the municipal council and the county council, where she argued, among other things, that culture was important for public health. Elisabeth Lindmark drew inspiration from Sigrid’s own memoirs, the stories of her surviving relatives, and the author’s own imagination. Elisabeth herself has many years of experience as a doctor at Norrland University Hospital.
