Finnish evacuation in fall-winter 1944-1945

As a result of the peace settlement between Russia and Finland in the fall of 1944, Finland was expected to drive out the German troops remaining in northern Finland. To spare the civilian population, a large-scale evacuation was carried out. Many of the evacuated women, children and elderly were transported to Sweden together with their pets. Rolf Granstrand talks about the Finnish evacuation and how it affected the Skellefte district.
