Poet and author Mats Söderlund, who grew up in Skelleftebygden, talks about his book Härlig är jorden, which was awarded the Norrland Literature Prize in 2024. A conversation about places we love and how we can best protect them.
Mats Söderlund is a writer and poet, born in Sundsvall, raised in Skellefteå and now living in Simrishamn. He made his debut in 1992 with the poetry collection Det står en pöbel på min trapp (There's a mob on my doorstep) and was awarded the Katapult Prize as that year's best debut author. Since his debut, he has published some twenty books and received several prizes and scholarships for his work. 2018-2020 saw the publication of the climate fantasy trilogy "Ättlingarna", which is largely set in the areas around Skelleftehamn and Kvikkjokksfjällen.
