"Deerberry Bog"

Ulrika Lagerlöf talks about her book Hjortronmyren , which is inspired by her own family history. Her mother grew up in Bastuträsk in Västerbotten, and in the early 1940s her grandmother worked as a cook in a logging cabin.

"Hjortronmyren" is the first part of the series "Timmerfolk", a suite of novels where women are at the center of the story of the magnificent Swedish forest and the conflicts that surround it.

Ulrika Lagerlöf works with communication in the forestry industry. She lives in Uppsala and made her debut in 2021 with Stanna hos mig.
