Welcome to the opening of the 17th Storytelling Festival, where stories, music and song show us how courage can change, heal and unite. This year's festival theme, courage, encompasses many different experiences and when we share them, we open doors to understanding and strengthen bonds between people who would otherwise never have met.
Let the opening be your first glimpse into a festival program where each story gives strength, hope and community; A woman's escape from oppressive Iran and the life she encountered in Sweden, Västerbotten voices raised for an everyday life free from obstacles, experiences of living with non-normative functionality and wearing your identity with pride and weaving your traditions with a new context.
