Coffee, widows and entrepreneurship

"Shall we cycle to Mount Oljeberget and have a coffee?" That's what the Bäckström brothers in Hjoggböle would say to each other in the 1940s when they had taken off their football shirts and started pedaling. The fact that Houttama's pastry shop in Innervik was just over two miles away was no obstacle.

Café life in Skellefteå and other places was of great importance in the 20th century, and in "Coffee, widows and entrepreneurship" you get to take part in pictures, stories and cups from cafes in northern Västerbotten. With Katarina Åman, Head of Collections and Museum Experiences, and Jenny Tingvall, Object Historian at Skellefteå Museum.

A warm welcome to you!
