In Västerbotten, several interesting archaeological remains have been found from what we call the ancient world, the time that began 10 000 years ago when the ice sheet retreated. Among the finds are rock paintings, a Bronze Age grave with beautiful offerings and of course the world's oldest skis - the Kalvträsk skis - which were found in 1923 in connection with a trench excavation outside the village of Kalvträsk about 5 miles west of Skellefteå.
What can thousands of years old remains tell us about life and the people who lived in the county at that time? What do we know and what do we dare to assume? Listen to an exhibition producer, an archaeologist, an educator, a filmmaker and photographer and a narrative antiquarian from Västerbotten Museum as they show films and talk about the work of creating the new prehistoric basic exhibition Stone, Bronze & Iron - Ancient Life in Västerbotten.
Participants: Helena Magnusson, Erik Sandén, Maine Wallentinson, Petter Engman and Marianne Folkedotter.
