Artist talk with Jesper la Cour Andersen (in English)

Lillemor Skogheden meets storyteller Jesper la Cour Andersen, artistic director of The Telling Theatre in Copenhagen. It is an award-winning theater company that tours with storytelling performances for children, young people and adults.

They have received several awards for their innovative work and unusual expression. For this year's Storytelling Festival, they bring Beowulf - a critically acclaimed storytelling show that transforms England's national epic into a storytelling show unlike any other. With excitement, humor and great presence, they also bring a medieval story up to date.

Over the past 16 years, they have produced 10 shows, performed more than 1700 shows for around 160,000 children and 16,000 adults. They have performed all over Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany and in English in Ireland, Northern Ireland, India, Tanzania, Russia, England, Bulgaria, Italy, USA and Canada.

The Telling Theatre is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The company is founded in 1996 by artistic director Jesper la Cour. It's a touring theatre company performing for children, youth and adults. They have received several awards for their innovative work and unusual expression.

Their special qualities are simplicity, presence and dialog. Through interaction, validity and a sense of humor the stories are given a special touch that makes every performance unique.

They do two performances in English: Beowulf and Ye Gods. During the past 16 years they have produced ten performances, played more than 1700 performances for about 160.000 kids and 16.000 adults. They have performed all over Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany and in English in Ireland, Northern Ireland, India, Tanzania, Russia, England, Bulgaria, Italy, USA and Canada.
