Strange place names tell the story

Sweden has many places with strange and seemingly inexplicable names.

Skellefteå Museum's local historian Ulf Lundström has done his doctorate on place names in Bureå, Burträsk and Lövånger in the southern part of Skellefteå municipality and has since continued to study names in the northern part. The book is not finished yet, but perhaps he will offer some new interesting explanations for places like Slut, Tarsnäs and Stämningsgården.
