The dairymaid from Burträsk

Ulrika Eleonora Lindström was the originator of Västerbottensostensost and the dairywoman that Sandra Marklund, educator at Skellefteå Museum, talks about in this lecture.

In the 19th century, being a dairywoman was one of only three educational options for women. Through documents, we follow Ulrika Eleonora's life from childhood to old age in a changing society on its way to modernization. Through hard work and the help of the housekeeping society, almost an entire village and including another successful and today somewhat forgotten woman, she achieved eternal fame.

Told at Nordanåteatern on Wednesday and on the café stage at Nordanå on Sunday. Limited number of seats!

Free admission. Drop in, no registration.
