On July 5, 1932, the small industrial community of Klemensnäs was hit by a labor dispute that quickly escalated into one of the most high-profile in northern Sweden in the 20th century. What was behind the protests - and who were the people at the center of the events?
During the evening, Maja Östlund, museum host at Skellefteå Museum, guides us through the story of strikebreakers, state intervention and collective will to fight. Through historical documents, testimonies and local anchoring, we gain a deeper understanding of both the conflict itself and the social development that characterized Sweden during the interwar period.
The lecture is aimed at anyone curious about the history of Västerbotten, the roots of the labor movement and the defining moments that shaped our society.
Please note! Due to high interest, the lecture will be held on two occasions.
Free of charge and no registration required, but limited number of seats. You are welcome to attend!
