Jonas Hedlund on tour with the lunchtime performance and musical monologue "The Word" from Torgny Lindgren's short story collection Merab's Beauty.
"He had drawn the iron pipe, it was a one-inch iron pipe, he had drawn it from the head end near the bed and down into the kitchen so that it ended at the wall cupboard, if you sat on the wood bench you could talk straight into the pipe. In that pipe he spoke to Hanna, his mother, Hanna Burvall, and to Sofia. But never to any stranger."
The performance is about Samuel Burvall in Storholmträsk. The man who locked himself in the attic and thought the word itself was the source of infection. The word pneumonia.
A tragicomic story about love, fear and the power of words. And the eternal question - what is meaning itself?

Reviews:
"It is like being totally absorbed by the author Torgny Lindgren's voice when you sit down on the café stage at Örebro Theater and the one-man show Ordet." Martin Dyfverman/Culture section
"Jonas Hedlund gives colorful and convincing voice to Lindgren's characters. He sings salvation songs at a fictional pedal organ (which we only hear) and he really IS Lindgren's narrative voice that gives us wings to soar into another world for an hour here in Örebro."
Martin Dyfverman/Culture section
"When Jonas Hedlund narrates, you sit breathless and just disappear into the story!
Saw the dress rehearsal and look forward to Saturday to see it again." Audience voice after the rehearsal
