A wild fairy-tale journey with two elderly women who take their lives into their own hands. Selma and Elsa run away from the nursing home. Their escape marks the beginning of an adventure neither of them could have imagined. A landscape where fairy tales come to life, where memories become maps, and where imagination takes over when reality falls short.
“Aunties on the Run”is a warm, humorous, and imaginative production in which classic fairy tales by H. C. Andersen, Elsa Beskow, and Selma Lagerlöf are woven into the story with playful precision. Here we meet two heroines who refuse to let life become stagnant, who seek new directions, and who—despite their age, sorrows, and longings—refuse to give up on the dream of something more.
For both children and adults ages 6 and up.
The performance is presented in Swedish Sign Language and interpreted into spoken Swedish.
