Annika Ström "Imagine that everything turned out like this", (2006), 2022, text work
In connection with the Storytelling Festival in Skellefteå, a recurring text work will be produced specifically for the site. The work will be performed throughout the month of October in different places and in varied forms.
Annika Ström, born in Helsingborg and educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Annika Ström has lived in Berlin from 1993 to 2005 and then worked in London until recently when she settled in Mallorca. Since 2000, Annika Ström has worked with very everyday Swedish phrases that have been painted on paper, canvas, posters in town, walls, metal, blasted in stone and become digital road signs and in fixed designs.
The initiative is a collaboration between the art institutions Skellefteå Konsthall and Museum Anna Nordlander. Together we have initiated the project ArtTänk ArtTank. The aim is to create new meeting places in different contexts and offer opportunities to experience contemporary art in its various expressions and in unexpected spaces.
The text will be visible in different and unexpected places throughout the week.
