A musical story inspired by the life and work of poet Emily Dickinson - PREMIERE!
Kajsa Reicke is an actor, teacher and visual artist. She has been active on the theater stages since 1979 and also ran Tantteatern in Umeå, together with her colleague Karin Larson. Image and text have followed her through life in both art exhibitions and performances.
Now she has delved into the life of American poet Emily Dickinson. The result is a delicate narrative performance and a tribute to a wayward poet with a voice all her own. Everything is structured as a kind of conversation between her and the poet - framed by Carlos de Rada Moniz's newly written music.
Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) is one of America's greatest and most original poets of all time. She was an astute observer, experimented with expression and challenged existing definitions of both poetry and the poet's work. She lived a reclusive life and gained much greater recognition for her poetry after her death. Finally, we get to know her in depth.
The poems used in their entirety in the performance are translated by Ann Jäderlund.
