18.30-19.30 UniVerse with Clare Murphy

World-touring Irish storyteller Clare Murphy brings her acclaimed show UniVerse to the 2022 Storytelling Festival! Murphy takes us on a playful excursion through myth, science and a whole lot of turtles...

Hear the breathtaking story of the origin of the universe, where science and ancient myths compete with each other. Quantum physics and philosophy are pitted against historical myths, in a playful battle over life's big questions: How big is the universe? How were sounds, life - us - created? And what are all the turtles doing here?

Storyteller Clare Murphy has performed her stories on stages all over the world, including The Globe Theatre and the National Theatre in London, Fabula Festival in Stockholm and Boca du Ceu in Brazil. Her repertoire ranges from political stories such as the Syrian The King of Lies; to playful performances such as UniVerse. Murphy is also a storytelling consultant for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA and a frequent teacher at the National Theatre in London.

20.00-ca 21.30 Cow flies

The quartet Kon flyger offers fantastic tales and live music with deep roots in the north-eastern parts of Norrbotten.

Kon flyger consists of musicians Hasse Alatalo, Johan Andrén and Janne Olofsson and the well-known author Mikael Niemi. Ever since his breakthrough in 2000 with Popular Music from Vittula, he has been one of our great and widely read authors. He is also an aesthete who can capture an audience and many have listened breathlessly to his breathtaking stories. Now it's our turn!

He is accompanied by Hasse Alatalo on vocals, guitar and accordion. He has played with several constellations, including the group Norrlåtar. Johan Andrén, double bass, also plays classical music with the Luleå Symphony Orchestra and jazz with the Black Island Stompers. Janne Olofsson, violin, has played with Norrlåtar and in many other contexts.

Admission for the whole evening: 295 SEK, 220 SEK youth/students.

The festival club is open from 18:00 to 23:00, so you can come early and hang out late.
