Frida Selander is back with a new show and a new album, in which she examines her relationship with herself and the world around her. Being human is complicated and many of us have gone through crises and finally realized that the only one you can actually change is yourself. It starts in you.
With her warm speech and distinctive voice, Frida meets us with her songs and stories. The autobiographical
interspersed with philosophy, science, spirituality and poetry. Seriousness is mixed with humor. Alone on stage, with electric guitar, harmonica and piano, she sings with the disarming vulnerability we have learned to love so much.
The music runs like a red thread through the performance, which moves in a borderland between narrative tradition, pop music and dance.
The production is being developed in residence at the Nordic Storytelling Center and together with choreographer and director Björn Säfsten, she delves deeply into the relationship with the self. How and why do we react as we do? What happens when we turn our gaze inwards? Do we like what we see or do we want it to be different? Can we give the world more love if we start by liking ourselves more?
Frida twists and turns life, the narrative format and the music. She talks about trust, acceptance and the immense power of love. This show is about Frida, but it is also about us. She says: "There is only one way to hold on, and that is to let go." Do you dare? It starts in you.
