Hiking For Stories

Can you offer a lift to a storyteller?

During the festival week, six Nordic storytellers will be hitchhiking, joining passers-by on the streets of Skellefteå. So if you see someone with an upraised thumb and a sign around their neck that says "Join me for a while!", take the chance and join in!

Hiking for Stories is a project exploring the feasibility of using the Urban Hitchhiking method to collect life stories from people living in cities in Sweden, Norway and Finland. The method involves a storyteller hitchhiking with a passer-by and walking and conversing for as long as both parties wish. The aim is to develop a method for this and ways and means for more people to listen to these stories.
