In prehistoric times, people in northern Västerbotten were not isolated from the world around them. They traveled, were influenced by and had contacts with people far away. This has been shown, for example, by a 4000-year-old settlement at Bjurselet, Byskeälven.
Based on Storsia, Susanne Sundström, an archaeologist at Skellefteå Museum, tells us about some very early immigrants and how about 200 axes of Danish flint ended up in Bjurselet.
About Storsia stories:
During the Storytelling Festival, museum staff will be on hand to delve into a special section of Storsia - Skellefteå Museum's local history exhibition. During the week, you have the chance to hear stories and see pictures from different parts of local history - from past to present. Also, take the chance to explore the exhibition and listen to more stories from history on your own.
