IMAGINE THAT EVERYTHING TURNED OUT LIKE THIS

Skellefteå Kammarkör sjunger texter av konstnären Annika Ström

Skellefteå Chamber Choir is an important cultural actor in Skellefteå, which was formed in 1971 with high ambitions and a wide repertoire. Since 1987, Leif Åkesson has been the choirmaster and in 2021 the choir celebrated its 50th anniversary with a full auditorium. The choir consists of 35 singers and the repertoire consists of both older and contemporary music. The choir's goal is to constantly develop technically and artistically and they are happy to try new genres and constellations. The choir performs four major concerts a year and every three years the choir participates in a choir festival or choir competition in Europe.

The artist Annika Ström was born in Helsingborg and studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, and has since worked in London. Since 2000, Annika Ström has worked with everyday Swedish phrases painted on paper, walls and canvas, printed on posters, metal and blasted stone, and turned into digital road signs and fixed designs.
