3 theaters - Nordic cooperation project
Cooperation between Oulu Theater, Wasa Theater and Västerbottensteatern has started
Västerbottensteatern (SVE), Wasa Teater (FI) and Uleåborgs teater (FI) have been granted support by the Swedish Cultural Foundation for a collaborative project that strengthens Nordic theater cooperation.
The aim of the project is to increase cooperation between the theaters, to develop international networks, to increase the diversity of the theater scenes and to develop audience work in all three theaters.
" [...] We believe and hope that the collaboration with our colleagues in Finland can give us a greater insight into and knowledge of what is required in the meeting with a multilingual, diverse audience," says artistic director of Västerbottensteatern Bobo Lundén.
"[...] We want to see our theaters as part of a larger Nordic theater family instead of sticking only to our own cities and networks," says UIeåborg Theatre CEO Anu-Maarit Moilanen.
"[...] Within the project, we are also looking for solutions to the language barriers that currently exist in the performing arts," says Wasa Theater's director Ann-Luise Bertell.
Each theatre contributes to the project with its own specialized knowledge and a performance exchange is also realized within the project.
Wasa Theater's work with audiences is of a high standard and has, among other things, worked on development projects within Theater in Education. Västerbottensteatern is a regional theatre that specializes in the storytelling tradition, they also have skills in finding locally interesting stories. The Oulu Theater participates in the project with its expertise in equality and diversity.
In the autumn of 2022, Västerbottensteatern's performance Mira - Flickan från långt played at Wasa Teater and at the beginning of next year Wasa Teater will visit Skellefteå and Oulu with its Theater in Education program Glänta. Later in the spring, it is then Oulu Theater's turn when they go out with the performance Diiva.

Yhteistyö Oulun teatterin, Wasa Teaterin ja ruotsalaisen Västerbottensteaternin yhteistyöhanke on aloitettu
Teatterit ovat saaneet Svenska kulturfonden -säätiöltä rahoituksen yhteistyöhankkeeseen, joka vahvistaa pohjoismaista teatteriyhteistyötä.
Hankkeen tavoitteena on kasvattaa teattereiden välistä kumppanuutta sekä kehittää kansainvälisiä suhteita, näyttämötaiteen moninaisuutta ja yleisötyötä kaikissa kolmessa teatterissa.
” […] Uskomme ja toivomme, että yhteistyö suomalaisten kollegojemme kanssa voi antaa meille paremman käsityksen ja tiedon siitä, mitä monikielisen ja monipuolisen yleisön tapaamisessa vaaditaan”, iloitsee taiteellinen johtaja Bobo Lundén Västerbottensteaternista.
” […] Haluamme nähdä ja kokea teatterimme osana laajempaa pohjoismaista teatteriperhettä sen sijaan, että eristäydymme omiin kaupunkeihin ja pienempiin piireihin”, sanoo Oulun teatterin toimitusjohtaja Anu-Maarit Moilanen.
” […] hankkeessa etsitään ratkaisuja erilaisten kielikynnysten ylittämiseen esittävissä taiteissa”, toteaa Wasa Teaterin johtaja Ann-Luise Bertell.
Teatterit tuovat hankkeeseen erityisosaamisensa ja hankkeen aikana toteutetaan myös esitysvaihto.
Wasa Teaternin tekemä yleisötyö on todella korkealla tasolla ja he ovat mm toteuttaneet Teatteria opetuksessa -hankkeita. Västerbottensteatern on alueellinen teatteri, joka keskittyy tarinankerrontaperinteeseen ja jolla on erityinen kyky löytää juuri omalla alueellaan kiinnostavia tarinoita. Oulun teatteri osallistuu hankkeeseen erityisosaamisellaan tasa-arvosta ja monimuotoisuudesta.
Syksyllä 2022 Wasa Teaterilla nähtiin Västerbottensteaternin Mira – Flickan från långt borta ja ensi vuoden alussa Wasa Teaternin Teatteria opetuksessa-ohjelma Glänta nähdään Skellefteåssa ja Oulussa. Myöhemmin keväällä on Oulun teatterin vuoro lähteä matkaan Diiva -esityksen kanssa.
