THE BOOK ON UNGHÄSTENS CREATIVE METHODS FOR GOOD CONVERSATIONS

Suicide is now the most common cause of death among 15-24 year olds. The fact that so many young people suffer from mental illness is the driving force behind Unghästens educational value-based work in schools over two decades. By popular demand, Unghästens award-winning work has now been documented in Safe Classrooms - a handbook by educators for educators. The book describes a methodology that uses creativity, value exercises, theater and play as pedagogy to create its own "talking method" with the classroom as a stage.

The book gives you the spark to carefully lead the class, exercises and creative methods to prevent crisis in the classroom. Twenty suggestions for a safe discussion climate are provided as well as five sessions that strengthen the class.
About friendship, bullying, self-esteem/self-confidence, being a bystander and the internet. Maybe it's time to ride out that storm? Get the class to dare to believe in their own ability? Take on the role of conversation leader, introduce the core values work and convey a ray of hope.

Safe classrooms help you as an educator in your primary role as a relationship builder and conversation leader. For the sake of learning.
"In third grade we flew, in fourth grade we crashed. Now in fifth grade, they're here to see if we can fix the plane and fly again." - Student on Unghästen
"I am convinced that the values work makes life in the classroom easier, more fun and less conflictual. The founder of Unghästens advocates what is most important: Curiosity, confirmation, faith, expectation."- Educator Linda Sunesson
